Visiting the Zoo

A few days after Tate had his tonsils and adenoids he was ready to get out of the house--and so was I! We decided to take a trip to the zoo. It was a nice day...Garrett's favorite part was the new grey fox that were there and Tate liked watching the monkeys. Mya was not too sure about the petting zoo. I am not sure who was more disgusted...Mya or the goat!

Fish Lake

Here are some pictures from Fish Lake. We spent most of the Forth of July here. Tate was very proud of the fish he "caught." Yes...it was dead (and smelly).

Flea Market Treasures

Garrett and Tate went to their first Flea Market with grandma and grandpa last weekend. Garrett couldn't believe the treasures he found....a whole bag of McDonalds toys for one dollar....two used hot wheels cars for fifty cents! Tate on the other hand, found the Flea Market less than thrilling. He learned that not everyone is nice...especially the grumpy old man that scolded him for touching his autographed toy Nascar. Boo... He did find a nice toy tractor for only a dollar, which cheered him up a little.

Fun at the Pool

We spent the day at the Rush City Pool with our Aunt Leota, Uncle Jerry, Grandma and Grandpa, Olivia, Craig, Elizabeth and our cousins, Silas, Maddy, Brenden and Lauryn! What a fun day! We just wish Baby Anna and Jennie/Joel were there (sick) :( Tate and Garrett loved the waterslide...with the exception of a couple of mishaps...

Slip and Sliding!!!

Slip and Sliding at the Stephensons was really fun! Mya and Cousin Silas liked to clap for everyone. I even tried it once....or twice! But now I now why Slip and Slides are really for kids.

The Wedding

Tate and his cousin Lauryn decided it was time to get married. Lauryn was all for it until Tate tried to kiss her!

Baby Robins

We have been watching a robin's nest for the past few weeks. Every day we looked at the three blue eggs until they hatched into three "cute"baby birds. Last time we looked they were getting too big for the nest and now they are gone. We are hoping they just flew away.... The egg Garrett is holding in this picture must have been a "dud" from another nest. They were very interested in it!

June/July 2009

We are having such a fun summer so far. I love that I have my summers off from work. We have spent lots of time at the beach and the zoo. We also went to Moorhead/Fargo to visit my sisters Olivia and Jennie. Garrett and Tate love to play with their cousins. We went to Space Aliens while we were there to celebrate summer birthdays. We also went to a pool (but didn't get to swim because of a pending storm). But mostly, we hung out with my sisters and kids and let them play with eachother. They loved going on a slip and slide and Brenden has convinced Garrett that Wii's and DS's are the coolest things on earth! We also just got back from visiting my hometown of Harris. My Aunt Leota and Uncle Jerry were visiting (unfortunately their dad died) and we wanted to spend time with them. We went to the Rush City Pool, the Flea Market (where Tate learned not everyone is nice), and Fish Lake (where we rinsed off thoroughly so we wouldn't get swimmers itch--seriously!). We had a great time watching Fireworks in North Branch. Unfortunately, Mya got sick during our visit and ended up in the ER when we got back. She had pnuemonia but is much better already. Summer is going by fast--Jim and I have been training for another running event. He missed Grandma's Marathon because he wasn't feeling well, but I was able to run the 1/2 marathon. Now we are hoping to get into the Ashland Whistlestop Marathon (just a 1/2 for me!). The boys have been busy with T-ball and Mya has been busy learning how to hold her own. Her favorite words are "no way" and "I do!"

Mya Jane

Here is a more recent picture of Mya. I meant to keep up with this blog page, but it has been over a year since I posted pictures (before today).

Mya running the Whipper Snapper

This is Mya running the Whipper Snapper. I carried her most of the way, but I think she was excited to run through the finish. Garrett was concerned that she might be sad that she was in last place, but I assured him she didn't notice.

T-ball

Both the boys are playing T-ball this summer. They are on a team called the "Mudcats." They think they are pretty tough. Garrett is getting really good at hitting and throwing the ball. And Tate...well, he is really cute out there!

Tate showing he is not always sweet!

Garrett's 6th Birthday!

This was Garrett's birthday party. We thought it would be fun to rent a bounce house and it was really fun! It is hard to believe my oldest baby is six years old already. The kids were crazy wild and were really super easy to get to bed that night.
